Ontario Starlink does not install lighting protection. From our discussions with insurance companies, they indicated no increased premiums due to Starlink rooftop or tower installations. However, we do recommend installing a surge suppressor combined with a power UPS.
While the risk of a lightning strike is very low, we cannot guarantee protection or assume liability in the event of a strike.
Installing proper protection systems is often costly and challenging, making it impractical for most installations. Ultimately, the decision is up to the homeowner, but we advise considering the low probability of occurrence when evaluating lightning risks.
